Why? I hate writing that word. I don’t have the patience to wait for a reply from a written query. Google, ChatGPT, Alexa. They can all tell me faster than waiting for someone else to get off their ass and reply.
I was always asking that question when I was a kid. It drove my mom nuts. If she ever would reply, “Look it up!”, I got upset. I might do it, but it still annoyed me. The wait for knowledge should be as illegal as smoking in a warehouse full of fireworks.
Even today, I rarely ask it. I have more tabs of reference open on my phone as I have family. If I want to know something, I find it. In seconds. Then, I learn all I can about it, so I don’t have to ask about it again.
Besides, it is two letters too long. That in itself seems a delay in education.
I don’t mind hearing it. That means someone wants to improve themself. But just don’t write it.
I try not to create a void of knowledge that typing those letters creates. If I don’t get it the first time, I’m not sticking around for the follow up. Honestly, I probably looked up the answer before I finished reading.
Just for the love of the gods, don’t write that down when you are conversing with me. There are many more places to get your informational fix. Most are better than I. Some I would use to answer you. But I won’t. Want to know why?
